Ready To Walk: Christian Lifestyle Blog by Leah Kirk
Leah Kirk, a native of Philadelphia, PA, is a preacher's kid, singer, and all around great person that I have known for about 8 years. She is a graduate of my alma mater, Hampton University, and I actually sang with her for a couple years at Sharon Bible Fellowship Church, in Lanham, MD, where her father is the presiding Pastor. Though she was raised in a Christian household, Leah grew to establish her personal relationship with Christ when she became a young adult. What is most important about her faith is that she remains relatable, and thus able to reach a population that may not necessarily be a regular "church-goer." Leah recently took her outreach to new levels. She created Ready to Walk: Christian Lifestyle Blog as an outlet of encouragement for new believers, mature believers and even the unbelievers. She wishes for readers to find through her blog posts, that her personal experiences aren't much different from that of any other young adult.
What is important to note, is that because Leah is such an engaging person, her blog posts are easy reads. While the entries cause you to think, they are also very conversational, and tie back to the Bible. Though sharing personal experiences, she is sure to provide biblical references for the readers to continue their own studies on the topics and situations discussed.
It is certainly an art to be able to minister, or share any faith-based beliefs, no matter the religious affiliation, without sounding judgmental, off-putting, and sometimes offensive. There are many religious leaders, in my opinion, who have not achieved this level of delivery. Leah, however, is what I believe to be a trailblazer in the new generation of ministry. She says that if her life could be summed up into one verse it would be Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, don't depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do and He will show you which path to take."
Leah has recently relocated to Chicago, IL where she has started studies at Moody Theological Seminary. Stay tuned because this is just the beginning of her journey! She is clearly ready to walk! See what I did there?
